Course Title: CCNA 2: Routing Protocols and Concepts

Course Preview: This course describes the architecture, components, and operation of routers, and explains the principles of routing and routing protocols. Students analyze, configure, verify, and troubleshoot the primary routing protocols RIPv1, RIPv2, EIGRP, and OSPF. By the end of this course, students will be able to recognize and correct common routing issues and problems. Each chapter walks the student through a basic procedural lab, and then presents basic configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting labs. Packet Tracer (PT) activities reinforce new concepts, and allow students to model and analyze routing processes that may be difficult to visualize or understand

Learning Outcomes: 1: Describe the purpose, nature, and operations of a router
2: • Explain the critical role routers play in enabling communications across multiple networks
3: Describe the purpose and nature of routing tables
4: • Describe how a router determines a path and switches packets
5: • Explain the route lookup process and determine the path packets will take in the network
6: • Configure and verify basic operations for a newly-installed router
Evaluation Procedures: Students will be evaluated on their performance in the course. There is an exam for each chapter, a final comprehensive exam, and a practical lab final exam. The average on the chapter exams will comprise 20% of the final grade. The Practical Lab Exam and the comprehensive Final Exam each will count 40% of the final grade.

Point ranges for each grade:
A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 70-79
D = 60-69
F = 0-59
