Course Preview: Did you know that the effective management of information and records has increased dramatically with the use and reliance on technology? If you need an introduction or refresher to the world of recordkeeping, then POFT 1319 Records & Information Management is the course for you! The course, which is completely online, will cover the life cycle of records--both manual and electronic -- as it relates to the management of records. Basic filing procedures, rules, and equipment will also be introduced. You will also be introduced the basics of electronic filing with Microsoft Access 2007 (no previous knowledge is required). Several class projects will require the use of Internet research, and the topic of records security will also be introduced. All tests and assignments will be presented in an online environment.
