| Course Preview: | Introduction to Web page design and related graphic design issues, including: - Mark-up languages (HTML/XHTML and CSS); - Designing, building, and promoting web sites; - Internet access software; - Accessibility and usability; - Other interactive topics. This course concentrates on manual coding of Web pages but also includes some instruction in the use of WYSIWYG editors such as DreamWeaver, and of image-editing software such as GIMP and PhotoShop. | Evaluation Procedures: | Student grades will be determined by the following:
Weekly assignments: 100% Each assignment will include some possible points related to the technical quality of the assignment's pages. More specifically, these points will be related to whether or not all links work and whether the assignment's pages are free of script errors. This requirement is in keeping with the student's gaining experience that is relevant to the real world of Web programming. Class attendance and participation may count as extra credit. Many assignments will also have extra credit available. Point ranges for each grade:
A = 90-100B = 80-89 C = 70-79 D = 60-69 F = 0-59 |
